 In this position I am responsible for the recruitment, admissions, marketing and student advising for the Master of Health Administration degree. In addition to these roles, I also serve critical roles in regards to building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with our faculty, students, alumni and industry partners.  In my role as recruitment and admissions manager, I utilize the Slate Recruitment CRM System to maintain communications with prospective students as well as manage each application from submission through acceptance.  Once accepted, all new students have a comprehensive initial advising meeting with me to create their academic progression, discuss their admission requirements and assist with any concerns they have regarding registration, financial aid, university supports and beyond. Once enrolled, I continue to advise students as needed. Below is a more detailed description of the systems I use for advising and retention.  Throughout the year I coordinate and implement a number of recruitment and student-centered events, both in person and online.  In my role as recruitment manager, I maintain the social media presence and marketing for both the MSU Denver’s Master of Health Administration degree and our Department of Health Professions. In this capacity, I have also created both digital & physical marketing campaigns for the MHA program.  I am responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of both the MHA and Department of Health Profession webpages through the Wordpress web design platform.

 Apply an advanced understanding of the Banner 9 SIS (Student Information System) to decipher student data and its impact on student retention including but not limited to: correctly building courses, resolving registration issues, monitoring financial aid requirements and awards, reviewing transfer credit evaluations, resolving registration holds, advising on financial balances and ultimately, educating the student on how each piece impacts their academic future in an approachable manner they can understand. Maintain a professional working relationship with the various departments at MSU Denver and assist students in connecting with said departments for additional supports including but not limited to Financial Aid, Admissions, Registrar, Bursar, Dean of Students, the Counseling Center, the Health Center, and the Access Center to ensure student academic success and overall wellness. Provide support of advisees from diverse backgrounds by guiding them to navigate the many barriers to they face to continuing their education while simultaneously teaching them tools to be self-reliant including prioritization, study skills, time management and resilience.  Provide program progression monitoring to ensure timely graduation of each student and improve student retention overall by utilizing the Degree Works and Navigate student support system and self-created monitoring tools.  Apply critical knowledge, professionalism and problem- solving skills to improve recruitment of new students. This includes but is not limited to guiding students in the processes of admissions, placement testing, financial aid, transfer credit and course registration.  Create and implement initiatives to improve retention that focus on preventative measures to decrease student debt, improve academic performance and provide support directly to the student to lift the burden of difficult personal situations, for example homelessness, mental illness and medical concerns.

 Educated students on the various health science career pathways, profession expectations and program requirements.  Guided students to select their semester courses based on their program needs, financial aid and scholarship eligibility requirements and their professional and academic goals.  Provided students with guidance on how to create a competitive application for the various health science programs based on program specific eligibility requirements.  Modeled advanced proficiency in the Jenzabar Student Information System (SIS) by researching advisee’s admission and academic status, academic history, major, financial aid status, course schedule, career pathway progress, etc , registering, adding and withdrawing students from classes as needed, Evaluating and applying transfer credit to a student’s transcript and Inputting approved transfer courses into the transfer catalog. Determined student’s need for remediation course work by analyzing past coursework and test scores.  Assisted students in the admissions process at various stages of consideration.  Provided technical assistance, support and expertise to the Health Science Dean, Liberal Arts Dean, Health Science program directors and instructors.  Created various efficiency tools based on advising needs in an effort to streamline responsibilities, use time effectively and improve advising outcomes.  Worked closely with students on probation and returning from suspension to identify future goals and strategies to improve their academic performance.  Created lessons for and taught the New Student Orientation course “SouthArk Success” which covers school resources, college survival skills and strategies to overcome challenges facing college freshman. Served as a member of the Guided Pathways Committee and the Recruitment and Retention Committee to enhance student outcomes.

 Liaison for the Florida Department of Education to State Boards of Health Serve as a member of both the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council and the Agency for Health Care Administration Advisory Council by providing education and project management expertise Responsible for an extensive knowledge of Florida Statutes and Rules governing education and numerous health care professions and applied this knowledge to technical assistance to the field and curriculum composition and review  Created legislative bill analyses to provide insight into the implications of pending legislation on health science professions and training programs Organize, facilitate and lead large groups in various settings, including but not limited to, presentations, trainings, working groups, articulation committees, academic alignments and revision committees  Organize statewide events for educators and administrators utilizing expertise in time management, prioritization, and collaboration with professionals and stakeholders Responsible for the preservation, review and creation of curriculum frameworks for the health science career cluster, of which there are over 120 training programs included that range from middle school to associates degree levels in a variety of health care professions.  Complete revisions under tight timeframes and deadlines of multiple databases including the Statewide Course Numbering System, Board of Education meetings and national curriculum revision cycles.  Responsible for the oversight, monitoring and approval of the Federal Perkins Leadership Funds Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) grant awarded to HOSA: Health Care Professionals  Provide accurate and valuable technical assistance to educators, school administrators and industry. Complete complex and time sensitive tasks in a professional and precise manner

 Responsible for the training and support of individuals with disabilities in the workplace as well as the creation natural supports within the employment environment to ensure job stability Serve as an advocate for each client’s rights and maintain confidential files and client privacy according to HIPAA standards Construct tailored and specific goals for each client for a variety of environments and disabilities Effectively communicate employment expectations and outcomes with employers, clients and interested persons  Successfully complete deadline specific billing procedures and compliance measures in a timely manner for the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Agency for Persons with Disabilities as well as the company itself Supervise and advise job coaches in Tallahassee and collaborate with staff in all offices Maintain and report quarterly data on client progress toward yearly goals
