Advise MD Applicants and re Applicants:-Provide direct academic and career advising for current and future UW MD applicants and re applicants regarding preparation for application to medical school. Attendance at Admissions Committee meetings is required to acquire and remain current regarding advising information.-Serve as liaison to undergraduate advisors in their roles as pre-med advisors.-Serve as liaison to campus organizations whose members have interests in healthcare/medicine.-Provide current information to counselors, advisors, and prospective applicants for the MD program.-Offer educational and career information and guidance in professional behavior to pre-medical students and applicants.-Familiar with requirements of special programs for MD applicants, advise and support applicants and assist in supporting programs within the SMPH.25% - Direct the MD Applicant Selection Interview Program:-Recruit and train interviewers.-Plan and implement the interview day schedule including medical student roles.-Evaluate the program via interviewers, interviewees and Admissions Committee feedback.-Provide feedback to interviewers.-Promote and encourage professionalism when working with medical student volunteers.-Serve as a resource regarding recommended practices in interviewing as a selection tool, based upon studies and resources especially in medical schools.Participate in Admissions Committee meetings:-Assist in preparation of meetings as needed.-Attend admissions committee and sub-committee meetings, and support meeting activities.-Take notes on applicant discussion.-Perform meeting follow up as needed.Plan recruitment and informational events:-Assist in outreach to students and advisors.-Make arrangements for and represent UW MD program through on-site and off-site campus visits.-Participate in recruitment fairs.-Organize Second Look EventHandle Social Media for the office, including Twitter and Facebook accounts

Work with prospective high school and college transfer students to introduce them to the opportunities available to them in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. Lead the Colleges Student Orientation and Advising Program (SOAR) including hiring and supervising peer advisors for the program.Served on various campus committees related to undergraduate student recruitment, retention and financial aid. Serve as a member of the colleges scholarship committee. Search and screen committee member for various position vacancies within the college and general campus. Worked with the DARS (Degree Audit Reporting System) system and served as campus DARS committee chair.Organized college visit day programs for prospective freshman and transfer students. Selected and advised the undergraduate CALS Ambassador program. This group was made up of undergraduates in the college who helped with recruitment efforts, visit day programs and college tours.
