Development of technical business process and frameworks to support documentation and compliance of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) products. Including risk management frameworks, safe systems of work, dangerous goods logistics, and document sets for regulatory compliance. Development and delivery of an internal risk-assesment training package.

Development of a novel mobile Hydrogen Refueller for the vehicle market, and acting as a product subject-matter expert for customers, notified bodies and internally. Managing a team of project engineers to develop process design for a compressed gas system, and integrate mechanical, electrical and process designs to a coherent whole. Responsible for management of the type approval process for CE marking to PED and TPED, as well as generation and approval of internal and external documentation to support customer usage and notified body approval.

Project engineering as part of the engineering design function, and management of the project engineering team. Responsibility for process functionality, regulatory compliance and systems engineering of a novel Hydrogen Refueller, my remit also included generation and approval of product and process documentation for customers and independent third parties.

Interim cover as Chief Engineer, leading the engineering team and part of the executive leadership team. Product owner and responsible for engineering design of novel mobile Hydrogen Refuelling station, including overseeing a team producing design drawings, safety studies, validation analysis and product documentation.

Technical Leadership within the hydro engineering team, alongside complete water-to-wire project engineering and of complex small hydropower schemes for both UK and International clients, from 50kW to >2MW. Complete lifecycle Project engineering and commissioning of the most complex schemes and contracts, in addition to the project engineer’s responsibilities, including:● Promoting process and quality improvements throughout the department, and supporting regulatory compliance (in particular ISO 9001 and ENA/Grid Code requirements). ● Building internal training and documentation of external training for knowledge-sharing.● Development of internal process documentation and manuals. ● Coordinating multiple high-value suppliers and subcontractors, for both new and refurbishment/upgrade projects, whilst monitoring budgets and timescales. ● Refurbishment and upgrade project engineering and design, both mechanical and electrical, including automation. ● Managing teams and sub-contractors on site, within environmental and local constraints.● Leading commissioning of multi-generator stations, including islanded systems, with low and high voltage equipment in the UK and abroad.● Driving moves towards technological improvement and cross-project problem resolution.● Provision of sales technical support through front-end design specifications, site surveys and documentation review.

Hydro project engineering, including day-to-day project management and coordination with clients, consultants, suppliers and the engineering team throughout the life cycle of the project, including:● Working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to meet client-driven deadlines. ● Providing the primary point of customer contact throughout the project, developing productive relationships. ● Leading commissioning of hydro-turbine generator, control and actuation systems in the UK and worldwide, managing customer and site interfaces in various cultural and language climates. ● Creation and delivery of customer training for a range of backgrounds, experience and language abilities. ● Development of a new turbine design to Gilkes, now successfully operational on several sites.● Design, Project Management and Commissioning of mini-grid or islanded schemes, including in Malaysia and Kenya. ● Engineering design, drawing review and approval of mechanical manufacturing and assembly drawings, and electrical control and switchgear schematics. ● Factory acceptance test witnessing of major purchased items. Controls factory acceptance test performance for client witnesses. ● Support of turbine and generator mechanical installation. ● Leading commissioning of hydro-turbine generator, control and actuation systems in the UK and worldwide, managing customer and site interfaces in various cultural and language climates. ● Commissioning of turbine-generators, the associated excitation systems, PLC controls, switchgear and hydraulics. Including complete system testing, fault-finding and completion of works to leave a fully functional water-to-wire scheme.

Main Role as Graduate engineer in the Plant section of the Networks engineering group. This role involved: ● Design of HV electrical network installations, including asset replacement projects. ● Production of specification documents, defining client-contractor interfaces and subcontracts.● Production of equipment specifications and design approval.● Detailed design for installations, including structural and electromechanical analysis. Also undertook a secondary role within Business Development, investigating potential opportunities for expanding the business, and developing associated pre-tender documentation.
