This was part of a national challenge called the 'I-Rail Challenge', organised by the institute of Mechanical Engineers, the purpose was to compete against teams from across Europe to design and build an electric train which could meet a brief, and win in terms of speed, sustainability and safety against our competitors. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about practical train engineering, building safety circuits and working in a collaborative partnership with engineers of different disciplines.
