Cognizant Technology Solutions2004.06-2017.06(13 years)Fresh out from college & thirst to learn new technologies, I started my hands on programming journey from July 2004. Initial two years was the toughest phase of my journey starting from finding a good mentor, to work on meaningful assignments. I was fortunate enough to get both of them & thus started my fun journey @ Cognizant.I started my career in learning Swing, EJB and Oracle & developed an end to end API for a banking firm. Words and phrases like SDLC, TDD, Pair programming & Hot deployment started to make sense & there was no looking back!During the mid-phase of my career, I had the opportunity to get introduced to Content management tools. The first term/catch word which caught my vision was "Widgets"!! Classroom training, online training & self-learning for next 3 years gave in-depth insights on Open Text (formally called as Vignette), IBM Websphere Portal & Content Management (6, 7 & 8.5) architecture/design. Between 2007 - 2010, I spent 15 - 18 hours a day to learn & master technologies ranging from Syndication, Subscription, Portal Search API's, Content API's, Application site creation to Portal admin tasks using scripts & performance tuning. This I would call my best days of my life!Frameworks I loved working with were EJB, JMS, MVC, JSF, Spring, AJAX, AspectJ, JSON, JAX-WS & JAX-RS (CXF & Jersey) and some of the DevOps tools which I have enjoyed using are Jenkins, SONAR, GIT, Subversion, TFS, Clearcase, Nexus, Logstash, Kibana, Maven, ANT, Gradle, Junit, JmeterMy core strengths are in performance engineering. I have spent 4 years working in unearthing some of the interesting design flaws, hardware and infrastructure pitfalls. JvisualVM, SOAPUI, Jprofiler, AppDynamics & Mercury Load runner helped unearthing performance bottlenecks & improving SLA's is always a roller coaster ride.My recent wanderings are in Elasticsearch (wow! Storing and retrieval is super easy), Logstash, Kibana, Neo4j (graph model is amazing!), Docker & Microservices!
