As the International R&D Partnerships Manager, my focus is leading the Ayrton Challenge on Energy Storage (ACES). The challenge aims to create and commercialise innovative battery and energy storage technologies and associated business models for fossil fuel generator displacement and mobility applications in developing countries, to expand and accelerate the clean energy transition. This includes leading the delivery of an RD&D programme to reduce the cost and improve the performance of battery energy storage system technologies for use in these regions.I am also leading the UKs interactions with bodies such as ESMAPs Energy Storage Partnership and the Global Battery Alliance. Whos mission is to support emerging economies in deploying clean energy storage technologies and to create a sustainable and responsible global battery value chain.
