Job title: Sales Director – Non‑standard automation equipment (Southeast Asia) Reports to: General Manager Department: Sales Department Work location: Major cities in Southeast Asia (flexible arrangement based on business needs; full support from the headquarters in China) Start date: To be mutually agreed Compensation range: RMB 20k–100k (base salary + uncapped commission + annual bonus + over‑achievement rewards) Key responsibilities A. Strategic planning & performance ownership: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for non‑standard automation equipment across Southeast Asia (with a primary focus on Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and reaching into Singapore and the Philippines). Define annual sales targets, collection plans, and market-entry strategies tailored to local market conditions. Take full ownership of regional sales performance, ensuring targets are met and driving sustainable business growth. B. Market development & client management: Penetrate key industries including automotive, 3C electronics, and other manufacturing sectors in the region. Identify clients’ automation challenges and customization needs, leveraging the company’s technical strengths. Build and enhance a regional sales system, focusing on high‑quality clients (automakers, EMS providers, parts manufacturers, precision machining shops, etc.). Maintain long‑term client relationships and increase market share. C. Market research & strategy optimization: Lead the team in conducting in‑depth market research to capture industry trends, local policies, customer demands, and competitive movements. Translate data into actionable insights to support product upgrades and strategic adjustments. D. Team building & management: Recruit, train, and motivate a high‑performance regional sales team. Enhance cross‑cultural communication and professional selling skills within the team. Oversee the entire sales cycle – from pre‑sales technical support and commercial negotiations to after‑sales service. E. Brand promotion & networking: Represent the company at regional industry exhibitions, seminars, and business forums. Build a network of partners, including trade associations and chambers of commerce, to strengthen brand visibility. F. Risk management & contract compliance: Lead contract negotiation, execution, and compliance management. Mitigate sales risks (credit, regulatory, etc.) and ensure timely payments. Resolve any critical issues during the sales process efficiently.
Job Requirements
A. Core mandatory requirements Industry expertise: Deep understanding of the non‑standard automation equipment sector, including technologies, applications, industry standards, and custom solutions. Familiarity with the automation upgrade trends in SEA manufacturing, regional market nuances, and customer needs. Established network: Strong existing contacts in the Southeast Asian market, particularly in automotive, 3C electronics, or related sectors. Proven track record in client acquisition, negotiation, and relationship management. Understanding of local business practices and cultural sensitivities. Professional experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in non‑standard automation equipment sales, with at least 3 years in a senior sales management role covering SEA. Demonstrated success in achieving high sales targets (verifiable performance data required). Priority will be given to candidates with experience in international automation companies such as Comau, ThyssenKrupp, Gefit, KUKA, ABB, FANUC, Yaskawa, or similar. B. Additional requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree or above; preferably in Marketing, International Trade, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or related fields. Competencies: Strategic thinking, strong business development and negotiation skills, and proven leadership. Results‑oriented, resilient, comfortable with frequent travel, and able to thrive in a cross‑cultural environment. Excellent problem‑solving and crisis‑management capabilities. Languages: Fluent Chinese is mandatory. Professional proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is required. Knowledge of local languages (Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian) is a strong plus. Professional conduct: High integrity, accountability, and a strong team spirit. Genuine interest in long‑term development of the SEA automation market.
