DEMAN is a world-leading manufacturer of professional flat glass processing machinery. Our comprehensive product range includes everything from alone-standing grinding and washing machines to fully automated production lines, serving customers in the glass industry worldwide. As a Field Sales Engineer, you will serve as the main technical contact person to our customers, spending most of your time on-site to thoroughly understand their requirements and actively drive the technical sales process forward. Your core task is to translate practical operational challenges into convincing technical solutions. - On-site Customer Support & Solution Design: Conduct detailed visits to customers' production facilities and sites to analyse their processes and requirements. Develop and present tailored solutions through meaningful proof-of-concept sessions and technical presentations directly in the production environment. - Preparation of Technical Proposals: Collaborate with internal development teams to translate customer requirements and your on-site findings into detailed technical specifications, cost calculations, and compelling commercial offers. - Strategic Technology Partnership: Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and our sales team. Build and maintain close relationships with key decision-makers—from technical staff to executive level—to ensure customer satisfaction and identify new potential opportunities. - Cross-functional Collaboration & Market Insights: Work with the sales team on account strategy. Serve as the "Voice of the Customer" by relaying critical technical feedback and market insights from the field to product management and development, thereby driving targeted product development. - Industry Representation: Promote our solutions and generate leads by representing the company at key industry events, trade fairs, and conferences across Europe.
Job Requirements
- Proven track record in a role as a Sales Engineer, Technical Sales, or Application Engineer, with experience in production machinery being highly preferred. - Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to grasp complex technical concepts and convey them clearly to diverse audiences. - Hands-on experience managing the technical sales cycle, including product demonstrations, management of Proof-of-Concept (POC) projects, and handling technical tenders. - Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to persuade decision-makers at all levels. - Fluent German and English (written and spoken) are mandatory to serve our core markets and collaborate internally. Knowledge of additional languages is a strong plus. - An independent, results-driven work style that combines initiative with strong teamwork skills. - Essential requirement: This role involves extensive travel (estimated 60–80% of your working time) to customer sites and events within your assigned European region.
