- Serve as a senior scientist in the areas of underwater acoustics, acoustical oceanography, and marine bioacoustics regarding the development and application of methods for scientific and statistical analysis of environmental impacts;- Provide authoritative scientific and technical advice and overseeing coordination on physical and biological oceanography (including underwater acoustics, acoustical oceanography, and marine bioacoustics) and marine ecosystem processes within the physical system;- Conceptualize, formulate, and develop underwater acoustics, acoustical oceanography, and marine bioacoustics research projects that investigate environmental effects from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) regulated activities;- Serve as a Project Manager and Environmental Studies Program representative for BOEM funded research;- Provide advice and formulate BOEM policy options for the Department of the Interior and BOEM senior leadership.

- Conduct research on ocean soundscape and ambient sound characterization, and underwater noise and its impact on marine life from anthropogenic activities.- Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses ME578 Ocean Acoustics, ME591 Sonar and Ocean Noise, ME573 Marine Bioacoustics, and ENGR516 Numerical Methods for Graduate Students at the Catholic University of America (CUA)- Serve as thesis committee member for graduate students at CUA- Teach graduate level course Ocean Acoustics and Sonar and Ocean Noise at the Naval Sea Systems Commands Carderock Division (onsite) and NAVSEA Kitsap Bangor (remote).- Develop and teach short training courses on physical acoustics, underwater acoustics, marine bioacoustics, underwater noise impact assessments, analysis, and modeling, and acoustic signal processing to various government and industrial entities (e.g., Newport News Shipbuilding, National Taiwan University).

- Analyze noise impacts on marine mammals and processing incidental take authorizations under MMPA for industrial, military, and research activities.- Provide acoustic advises and technical support for NOAA Incidental Take Program. Review and comment on acoustic monitoring plans and reports. Perform acoustic modeling that supports noise impact analyses.

- Joint research with Taiwanese scientists on cetacean conservation, underwater soundscape, and noise impacts on marine life studies;- Provide mentoring and advises to graduate and undergraduate students at the National Taiwan University;- Provide technical assistance and consultancy on issues related to marine bioacoustics to Taiwanese colleagues.
