During my six years with the company, I worked both as a teacher and a senior teacher. My managers, colleagues and the customers alike gave me constant commendation for excellent work and service. This was also supported by two Best Teacher Retention awards that EF had given to me. As a senior teacher, I was in charge of the APPLY/Life Club Calendar in my school and also supported my Director of Studies with scheduling, parent academies, cover planning and course orientations. In my DOS’ absence, I ran the weekly teacher meetings, attended the operations meeting in her stead and solved emergency issues. EF Kids and Teens SH21 has always had good numbers and great culture within the team because we all work hard together. I was assigned to oversee and maintain staff room culture and my former DOS and Center Director could vouch that I had done a good job on this. I was fortunate to have worked with different DOSes and CDs who allowed me to get exposure and hands on experience on some of the different facets of management. This professional exposure and my personal connection to my co-workers have helped me to see and understand the DOS and Teacher/Senior Teacher roles better hence my awareness of thegaps to fill. What I can bring to the role is my knowledge on how to balance work schedule, how to communicate well to the CD and the different stakeholders in the center including customers, my awareness of the academic and service team processes as well as a transparent and open communication within the team.
