Educational experience

• The University of Nottingham Ningbo China

  As part of my course at the University of Nottingham, I spent my second year studying in China at Nottingham's Ningbo Campus. Being in China really helped to improve my mandarin and I had a fantastic experience learning about the customs and culture of China. I also helped to set up Shamrocks Football team with fellow international students. We played in the Ningbo local league against Chinese businesses and organisations and managed to reach the quarter finals. This was a challenge as we could only communicate with the league officials in Chinese. Show less

  I took modules which were about business and economics. Many of these had a focus on Chinese business and China's economy. I also studied mandarin for three years. I was elected NUSEX General Secretary for 2013-2014. We ran social events for exchange students to help them to meet people from all over the world. We also helped them to find language partners so that they could learn a new language or improve the language that they study or are taught in. I also ran and played for the NUSEX football teams. My team was undefeated in the league with a perfect record of 10 wins out of 10 over the year. This meant that we qualified for the one day tournament for all of the IMS league champions. We finished 3rd out of 15 in this tournament meaning we were given the opportunity to represent the University of Nottingham in the IMS Varsity football match against Loughborough University.
