Haileybury has been successfully engaged in the international delivery of Australian education for over twenty years.In 2013, Haileybury founded an international school near Tianjin in China. Haileybury Tianjin is a boarding school for Junior, Middle and Senior School students.Haileybury is seeking a dynamic and innovative Head of English as an Additional Language (EAL) to lead the delivery of English Language programs for students in Year 10 to 1 2. The Head of EAL will lead a team of international and Chinese bilingual teachers across a range of programs including SACE Stage 1 and 2, Intensive English Language programs and a Year 10 EAL preparation program.With a proven track record of leadership experience in a diverse, large, complex and culturally diverse setting, the successful candidate will be responsible for raising student achievement and improving quality of English language proficiency across the Senior School (Years 10 -12). Fundamental to the success of this role will be a highly visible, hands-on and solution-focused style of leadership. You will be a broad, creative thinker who is also rigorously solutions-focused whilst being able to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly developing professional environment whilst enabling others to excel. Critical to success in this role will be the ability to adapt and work in a bilingual and cross-cultural context. Of importance will be culturally sensitive and an International Outlook. Experience working in the SACE and an ability to communicate in Chinese (Mandarin) will be highly regarded attributes of interested candidates.
