The Senior Underwriter is responsible for assessing medical and financial risk of applications for life insurance policies within the scope of assigned underwriting limits. Stay informed and understand the laws and regulations that govern insurance and financial practices. Be able to interact with agents, brokers and other stakeholders and explain underwriting decisions and address inquiries professionally. Reviewing and recommending changes or improvements to underwriting procedures and guidelines. This is to ensure that the underwriting process remains effective and aligned with industry standards. Participate in activities related to sales training particular in New Business and Medical Underwriting. Participate in projects such as product launches, automate new business and underwriting processes. Perform ad hoc duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and underwriting support.

Relevant qualification preferable Degree with 5-10 years prior work experience in life insurance Sound medical knowledge and exposure to life, disability, critical illness and health insurance products would be an advantage Professional life insurance qualifications such as FALU or similar life underwriting qualifications would be desirable Strong Microsoft Office Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Able to work independently as well as a strong team player Good written and oral skills in both English and Mandarin (to liaise with Mandarin speaking customers)
