Work experience

  • CAD Operator

    Borgo Contract Seating
    2023.12-Current(2 years)
    • Experience designing wood frames from concept to structure. Made decisions around support placement, manufacturability & joinery for component assembly. • Created parametric models for components, banquettes, & seating to enable quick & efficient modifications in Solidworks. • Created detailed shop drawings for finished seating, wood, foam, & metal components, along with step-by-step visual assembly instructions featuring close-up views, exploded diagrams, & callouts to streamline production & communication with manufacturers, vendors & internal teams. • Created 3D renders for clients using Solidworks Visualize & contributed to the creation & development of detailed 3D CAD models for the Borgo CET catalogue in IGES & STEP file format. • Working knowledge of developing fabric patterns for seating, with an understanding of fit, fabric behaviour, & general assembly requirements. • Designed theatre & institutional layouts in AutoCAD using DWG files & architectural blueprints for straight & curved aisles for both fixed & loose seating. The largest layout project exceeded 300 seats across two floors. Maximized eating capacity while ensuring compliance with ADA/building codes. • Programmed & operated the Cutlas HK5 Double Blade Foam CNC Machine. Established the file directory, developed the standard operating procedure, & trained production staff in efficient machine operations. Optimized nesting patterns to maximize foam part yields, minimize defects, & reduce overall cutting time. • Programmed for Biesse Rover A FT 1531 wood CNC & the Atom Flashcut Flex fabric CNC. • Created a semi-automated Excel-based calculator to efficiently determine component quantities needed for the assembly of beam & fixed seating. Calculator reduced miscount errors, & saved time.
  • Product Designer

    Pather Plastics
    2022.08-2023.05(10 months)
    • Modelled detailed multi bodied parts/assemblies using Solidworks. Created drawings & BOM of products for internal teams to manufacture. Created renders using CAD, touched up images on Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop & put designs onto a template to be presented to clients. • Created new products by reverse engineering using callipers & tested them by prototyping. Modified & maintained existing products/files from the assets library. • Took into consideration of sheet yields, part tolerances, methods of securing/manufacturability of components & assembly. Reduced the number of components & manufacturing steps needed when possible to reduce overall lead time & cost. • Created, programmed & operated the CNC, Laser Cutter/Engraver to manufacture products.
  • Peer Tutor

    Humber College (Now Humber Polytechnic)
    2020.07-2022.04(2 years)
    • Assisted students in Solidworks in/outside of class to enhance their skill set & answered general questions about the Solidworks program. • Liaison between students & professors to maintain a clear line of communication.
  • Industrial Design Intern

    Sky 2 Design
    2021.03-2021.09(7 months)
    • Reverse engineered in-house spray head using callipers to obtain part dimensions & recreated the spray head in Solidworks (CAD) for plastic manufacturing. Combined all components into an assembly to check the tolerances & feasibility between moving parts. • Conducted user, market & trend research. Conceptualized product ideas through sketches to convey the story to users to better understand the products intentions. • Designed & created the “Sage Home” Kickstarter page & promotional material using Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop & promoted the Kickstarter on social media platforms. • Upon completing the internship of over 466 hours, I was rehired as a freelance for design projects due to my exceptional performance.
  • Head Lifeguard & Swim Instructor

    City of Markham
    2016.08-2020.09(4 years)
    • Efficiently resolved any conflicts or unprecedented emergencies by maintaining communication with staff, patrons, facility & management. • Provide a safe and positive learning environment for swimmers of various ages, following the Lifesaving Society guidelines • Created lessons that are designed to accommodate different learning styles, ages and special needs of swimmers & applied the 3D's teaching framework (Do, Demonstrate, Direct) to effectively teach swim lessons. • Mentored and directed swim instructor assistants and volunteers, providing guidance on effective teaching techniques to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

Educational experience

  • Humber College (Now Humber Polytechnic)

    Bachelor of Industrial Design
    2018.08-2022.06(4 years)
I specialized in the product design branch of Industrial Design. To sum up my field of study... if Architects design houses, I design the everyday products that you use in your house. I design the overall look, aesthetic, ergonomics of the product. Create it in CAD & decide how it will be manufactured. Industrial Design Program Description: As a graduate of this program, you'll be in high demand for the practical skills you've developed through hands-on learning. These skills include sketching, digital graphics rendering, model-making and computer-aided design (CAD). The program is project driven, and many of the design projects will involve industry collaboration to ensure real-world relevance.
