  In addition to teaching at Personal Language Center, I teach English to private students (from beginners to advanced), translate documents from Portuguese to English, and edit articles that have been written in English by non-native speakers, correcting spelling, grammar, phrasing and punctuation, etc,, to ensure the text is expressed clearly and correctly before publication in international journals. I also add comments and suggestions for improvements to the wording. I am happy to work on any other documents, for example, technical papers, presentations, reports, advertising & marketing texts, websites, personal CVs (résumés), etc.

  I teach mostly individual students from intermediate to advanced levels. My students ages have ranged from mid teens to late 70s, and many follow an appropriate textbook - either general or business English. I have worked in finance, customer service, sales, purchasing and administration which means I can bring a lot of personal experience and knowledge to my classes. I also teach students preparing for the IELTS examination, and others who prefer to read and discuss texts that I have personally sourced and prepared, such as current news, general articles, theatre plays, etc. Computer and on-line facilities in the classroom provide me with a wide selection of teaching aids and dictionaries which I use to add variety, interest and detailed definitions, idioms and expressions, which can vary according to context. I am also able to access my own, cloud-saved, pre-prepared teaching documents, articles, etc.
