  During the leadership program, I successfully led my team ona5mile hike through John Day Fossil Beds National Monument with at least 20 pounds of barbed wire bunged to a frame pack and using only a topographical map. Awarded exemplary performance by my crew leader Enoch Cincotta. Worked on invasive plant species removal (Russian thistle) in John Day, and at Minidoka (invasive grasses) and replanting native grasses like needle grass and fescue to try and restore the sagebrush steppe around the national park Retrofitted a barbed wire fence at City of Rocks national park to help the nearby cattle farmers keep their cattle out of the park and maintain the safety of the park Built a deck at the Hagerman fossil beds for the visitors center.

  Presented the research we found at the biology undergraduate research symposium held by Georgia Southern University. Was published in the school newspaper after participating in monitoring, and tracking the recovery of the fish and herps after the lakes on the Georgia Southern Campus. Learned how to use several fish traps such as promar and crab cages to safely and effectively catch the fish and herps that remain in the lake post dredging.
