Global Automation Engineering Manager. • Over 17 years of experience in Electrical and Controls Projects for the Oil and Gas industry. • Strong experience in the design, implementation, standardization and maintenance of site control systems, including but not limited to: PLC’s, HMI’s, Drives, Networks, SCADA systems, low voltage power distribution, etc. • Manage a team of Control Engineers, technicians and contractors to implement control systems upgrades for an average of 10 capital investment projects annually. • Vast knowledge of instrumentation equipment principle of operation, (Configuration, scaling, calibration). • Deep knowledge of IEC approved programming languages, mainly ladder, sequential function charts and block diagrams. • Extensive knowledge and implementation of SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems) to achieve risk reduction throughout the machinery of various plants following OSHA guidelines. • Strong experience in the design of Electrical Power distribution for low voltage (480vac and below) and Control Systems. • Familiar with engineering standards: NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NEMA. • Responsible for the creation of all the required documentation for the Electrical and Controls aspects of Capital investments projects: budget, scope of work, system functional description, installation specifications, risk assessments, operations and maintenance training, manuals of operations, schedules, software programming. • Bilingual (English-Spanish).
