I subscribe to the constructivist approach where my learners are co-constructors of knowledge - guided but empowered to take ownership of their own learning, growth, and success.Following the APIE Cycle:Assessment - Dyslexia screening and Informal Assessments for profiling.Planning - lesson planning for small group intervention (differentiated instruction where necessary), writing up of IEPs for one-to-one intervention, scheme of work/teaching targets.Implementation - Intervention for small-group instruction (learners with dyslexia and co-occurring traits) aiming to improve their literacy skills via a holistic approach (phonics leading to vocabulary, comprehension, and writing).Specialised tutoring for one-to-one intervention allowing for a fully tailor-made and flexible approach; teaching at the point of need including structured intervention as above but also assisting on school subjects.Evaluation - Constantly diagnostic and prescriptive: progress monitoring (programme plans), student reports, post-intervention criterion-referenced tests, parent-teacher conferences, reflective practice, and quality assurance audits.
