  2nd Engineer HMS SUTHERLAND • Managerial role in £100+ million T23 Frigate refit project, coordinating with multiple stakeholders and contractors, as well as inspecting and signing off multiple work packages. • Managerial role in T23 Frigate commissioning project, delivering tests and trials on multiple ship’s services ensuring external agencies’ strict requirements were met. • Managed the maintenance and repair of Diesel Generators, Gas turbines, HVAC, hydraulics, and auxiliary equipment as the 2nd Engineer onboard a T23 Frigate consisting of 200 Ship’s Company. • Managed a team of watchkeepers to react to a minimum of 39 distinct Machinery Breakdowns, while continuously monitoring (and adjusting as necessary) hundreds of parameters ensuring personnel safety and operational capability were always maximised. • Supervised a team of over 30 engineering technicians, ensuring optimal performance and professional development through mentoring and training. • Planned and managed preventative and reactive maintenance, always minimising impact to operational capability and ensuring consistent application of Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments as required. • Maintained and inspected detailed engineering records, logs, and compliance reports for audits and inspections, ensuring full adherence to MOD and industry standards. • Dealt with sensitive (and on occasion extremely serious) Health and Wellbeing issues, signposting where necessary when dealing with junior personnel working away from home for long periods of time, in extreme environments. • Regularly briefed The Captain and external stakeholders on maintenance schedules, defects and rectification procedures.
