Mia is someone who seeks to utilize her proficiency in Chinese and English writing, to build bridges within organization and to connect with the outside world. She is also devoted to creating artworks: painting, photography and video. As a daughter of an art teacher, she has won numerous art awards from a young age. She anticipates putting her creativity to good use in the public relations and advertising industry. Her teenage years bloomed in Ying Wa Girls’ School, where she took up the role of vice head of the Venice Art Tour, and leader of the sub group. It is not only a memorable experience, but also an initiative that introduces her to new people and the magnificent world of art. Currently, she is pursuing her Public Relations and Advertising degree in the Hong Kong Baptist University. During her studies, she realized the importance of community service, so she began working as a tutor for children with ADHD and autism. Mia is also concerned about environmental sustainability. She became a team associate of Low Carbon Ambassador, a program organized by the University’s Task Force on Sustainable Campus, to promote 3R principles to Shek Kip Mei Estate residents, as well as planning a large scale event at school and a semester-long workshop that promote no single-use disposables items and treasuring culture in innovative way. More recently, she is getting a taste of what it is like to work in the PR industry. As an intern in Petrie PR, she has the opportunity to participate in the preparation of a large-scale media event - Sotheby’s auction of the world’s oldest single malt scotch whisky by Gordon & MacPhail, in which she has gained lots of useful insights to her future career path. She also worked in ICAC’s community relations department, where she assisted in writing theme spot descriptions, and produced her very own, and very first, digital clip art and video for ICAC’s Integrity Tour project.
