Senior Research Scientist @ SENISCA | Cellular senescence, HTS, molecular and cellular biology, 3D skin models, assay development. As a Post Graduate Research Associate at The University of Sheffield, I investigate the mechanisms underlying atopic dermatitis (AD), a chronic skin disease that affects millions of people worldwide. Using 3D human skin equivalent (HSE) models, I aim to identify the molecular and cellular factors that contribute to the development and progression of AD, and to explore potential therapeutic targets and strategies. I have a PhD in Cancer Biology from The University of Sheffield, where I worked on dissecting the liaison between cancer and its tumour-microenvironment (TME), focusing on the role of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAF). I have also gained diverse and extensive experience in cancer biology, infectious diseases, cellular senescence, and innate immunity, working at the Institute of Oncology Research (IOR) and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. I have publish papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented my research at international conferences and seminars. I have also developed and strengthened my teaching and mentoring skills, as a teaching assistant and a supervisor of undergraduate and doctoral students. I am passionate about science and learning, and driven by scientific challenges. I believe that knowledge and education are the keys to freedom and innovation. I aspire to contribute to the advancement of biotechnology and to the improvement of human health and well-being.
