Summary
Senior Engineer - Commissioning Training. I am currently a Senior Engineer with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories in their Commissioning group. In this role I will be able to apply my past experiences and knowledge in the commissioning of substation protection and control schemes. I will be collaborating with the other groups at SEL to provide the highest level of quality and service possible for all of our customers. I will focus primarily on the commissioning aspects of projects in both new construction and the modernization of existing infrastructure. I previously worked at Qualus Power, formerly Power Grid Engineering, in several capacities. I started there as a Lead Field Relay Engineer and then moved into the Field Services Manager Position, and finally the Area Manager for the Carolina's. As the Field Services Manager and Area Manager at Qualus Power Services, I managed the Utility aspects of the business in the Carolina's. I worked closely with Clients to determine how to best meet their needs and ensure their continued happiness with Qualus Services. As a Lead Field Relay Engineer with Power Grid Engineering, I worked on both green-field and brown-field substation projects and am responsible for Testing and Commissioning all associated protection and controls. Before this I worked as a Field Services Protection and Control Test Engineer at Georgia Power Company. At Georgia Power I served as both the co-chair and chair of our local safety committee. I gained considerable experience working new projects as well as testing and troubleshooting at existing stations. While with Georgia Power I also had the opportunity to work as a Distribution Engineer and Network Underground Test Engineer. I graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. While at Georgia Tech I worked as an Undergraduate Lab Instructor in the Invention Studio where I became proficient with many different tools and manufacturing processes. I worked with Georgia Power Company as a Co-Op while attending school and accepted a full time position as a Distribution Engineer upon graduation. I then transferred to my current position. I plan on persuing my PE License.
