 • A PhD in medical immunology/microbiology (5 years full time), characterising interactions between super-antigen expressing respiratory tract pathogens and B cells. • Solid knowledge in immunology, microbiology, haematopoiesis and leukaemia. • Profound practical and theoretical knowledge using state-of-the-art multicolour flow cytometry (FACSAria, LSR II and FACSCalibur) for isolation and analysis of primary cells (stem cells, hematopoietic progenitors and mature blood cells of both human and murine origin) • Extensive experience in RNA isolation from low cell numbers for down stream RNA amplification, microarrays, PCR, RT-PCR, qRT-PCR, paired-end transcriptome sequencing and microRNA profiling. • Various cell culture techniques, including eukaryotic cells (both cell-lines and primary cells), bacterial culture and sterile techniques, hematopoietic colony-forming cell assays, cloning, transfection and transformation, protein expression and purification (both eukaryotic and prokaryotic systems), assays for apoptosis and proliferation. • My broad molecular toolbox also includes Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), ELISA, immuno-blotting techniques, sequence analysis and animal work (mice). • On a personal level, I am an outgoing and positive person with a healthy sense of humor, easy to work with and known to be very dedicated to my assignments, my goals are high and I enjoy both planning and turning ideas into practical work.
