Main roles as a Quantity Surveyor are as follows:- Managing cost value reconciliation and projects overviews for multiple BESS projects(Battery Energy Storage System) and Solar Farm projects across the UK and Ireland.- Preparing and submitting application for payment to the Clients once milestones are met in the agreed CSA with supporting documents i.e. delivery notes, redacted purchase orders (PO), technical drawings, paid invoices to suppliers and lots more substantiation documents.- Reviewing and certifying subcontractors’ application for payment with monthly site visits and issuing payment certificates for completed works and invoicing purposes.- Raising detailed RFQs with technical drawings shared by the Design Team, for suppliers to submit competitive prices for procurement and comparing prices to meet the projects’ budget.- Monitoring closely the company’s financial performance on all projects involved to gain sustainable profitability.- Drafting bespoke subcontractors’ agreement and executing it to with a letter of award to the subcontractors.- Attending monthly progress meetings to discuss ongoing site variations / change orders, early warnings, variation proposals and highlighting potential issues that may cause or affect the projects’ programme key dates and energisation date.- Reviewing the employer’s requirement (ER).- Raising purchase orders to suppliers and subcontractors with standard / bespoke procurement and / or service terms and conditions.- Assisting our Accounts Manager in reviewing and certifying suppliers’, consultants’ and subcontractors’ pro-forma and invoices.- Measuring and preparing Bill of Quantities for foundation works during the design and civil construction phase.- Producing and regularly updating the cashIN and cashOUT forecasting cash flows for both the company and projects.- Producing Early Warning Notices, Compensation Events and Variation Orders as per the chosen contract(s) – FIDIC (Silver Book) and NEC 3/4.

Main roles as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor:- Managing costs for multiple cladding remediation, residential, hospitality and commercial works from pre-construction stage to handover (with final accounts) - Contract prices as slow as £7.5m and as high as £175m for mixed-use development.-Raising monthly interim valuations (recommendations and cover letters) and cost reports for the client. -Attending client meetings to discuss site progress, on-going variations / early warnings and highlighting any concerns that could potentially affect the completion date (extension of time). -Monitoring claims to ensure that any variances are analysed and recorded. -Providing help in resolving any payment-related problems i.e., delays in contractor payments -Assessing the employer’s requirements (ER) and developing the client’s completion schedule. -Collaborating with contractors to handle monthly and final account payment applications. In addition to that, compliance is monitored, and cost variations are evaluated. -Sourcing new contractor through pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQ), as well as tender management and reviews. -Contract management through the preparation of JCT Minor Works / Design & Build 2016 documentation for contractors. -Monitoring the company’s and project’s cashflow on a regular basis. -Contacting via telephone / emails and negotiating with the traders to obtain better prices (market testing). -Estimating performance and costs of a project by comparing to other similar projects (benchmarking).

Managing multiple £3m-10m projects on Cladding Remediation Works as part of the PBSA (Purpose Built Student Accommodation) for Unite Students.My roles as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor were as follows:- Raising payment certifications and invoices for issue to main contractors;- Attending weekly meeting with the team to discuss progress and outstanding work for the week/month;- Raising and pricing early warning notices and variations;- Monitoring company and project cash flow on a regular basis;- Helping work colleagues in the office with IT issues;- Reviewing and uploading contractor’s timesheets onto the company server;- Working collaboratively with the Associates in drafting and reviewing JCT Design & Build 2016 contracts;- Visiting sites on a monthly basis for progress review and valuations;- Calling and negotiating with the traders to obtain better prices (market testing);- Attending social events and exhibitions to speak on our company progress and development to attract a wider range of clients;- And; assisting the senior colleagues with take-offs.

- Condensing night shift’s cages and stacking all the extra chilled items in the chillers;- Condensing and filling milk before the store opening;- Gap scanning and filling if required on the shop floor;- Speaking and providing great customer service;- Collaboratively work with colleagues to date code and rotate;- Taking chilled deliveries and filling the chilled items on the shop floor;- Managing colleagues on the shop floor and in the warehouse;- And; facing up the store before closing so it is presentable for next day store opening.
