Conducted Finite Element Analysis using AutoCAD to predict the maximum load capacity of the filter structure. The boundary conditions for the finite element model were set to be fixed on Y-axis and no rotation around Z-axis. For area with negligible water stress and zero strain. A smaller mesh size (10mm) is assigned for the section encountering large water flow rate, compared to the standard mesh size (30mm) The highest stress on the filter is found in entrance of water indicating by the FEA results. FEA results were used to calculated strength-to-weight ration by matlab. Improved the entrance section design using a larger diameter to to support the design load of the filter, no less than 1E7 N by over 20 sets of simulation. Provided report which contains the information of over 20 world leading projects regarding reverse osmosis membrance. Formed a comparison chart with those projects and current company's products.
