Director of Operations. I am a manufacturing management professional. Presently, I am in my twenty eighth year of working in the manufacturing environment and have directly overseen plant operations a total of twenty. During this time, I have had the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of positions, including a green field start up, a transformation/turnaround, and a substantial expansion, all of which contributed to overall successful business operations. Management: Masters in Business Administration degree, with general manager, including full plant P&L responsibility, and various staff level positions. I was directly responsible for a green field startup operation. I managed a production facility move across town in Tijuana, over 4 weeks while meeting the monthly production plan. Over the last year, in Nogales, MX, managed the plant expansion from 400-600 K sq. ft., with a concurrent headcount increase from 500-1000, and a production volume increase of approximately 50%. Manufacturing Operations: My experience includes manufacturing engineering, quality management, demand flow or Lean manufacturing techniques, and short run, high model mix assembly operations as well as high volume automated processes. Other areas with significant operations experience include, Materials and Logistics management, Import/Export, cost accounting, and EHS. In all my experiences, I have had the opportunity to successfully lead substantially large, work teams in both the U. S. and Mexico, toward the fulfillment of operational goals focused on increased efficiency, safety, and quality, reduced cost, and timeliness of execution. I believe that the teams’ successes achieved are inasmuch a result of good communication and teamwork, as commitment to excellence. I speak Spanish fluently, and have lived and/or worked in Mexico for a total of thirty years. More than just bilingual, I am truly bicultural.
