  Developing new business and new business areas for TEAC/TASCAM, one of the most respected names in audio and recording. Audio is in my DNA, and today it's AV media, which couples together two of my life interests. In 2019 TASCAM successfully launched its first solutions for the professional AV installation market, the VS•R264 / VS•R265, which I defined, proposed to the company, and then managed through the development, launch and sales promotion phases. This included lifting the technical knowledge of our sales and support teams around the world, so that now TASCAM can compete at the same level as the market leaders for AV systems.   Dalet, a leading software company based in Paris, develops and deploys systems for AV Media Asset Management, Newsroom, Sports, Production and Playout Automation for TV and Radio, primarily used by broadcasters and in public sector organisations such as parliaments and courts of justice. Responsibility for Dalet UK's business in UK & Ireland, Scandinavia, Netherlands, Belgium, Southern Africa and from 2010 the Middle East, an area that includes a great many large broadcast and public sector clients and has grown since 2006 to account for as much as 25% of Dalet's global revenue. Developing industry partnerships and new business models have been key factors in the growth of sales in the region and these initiatives have been adopted by the company and now drive business in other regions. These include significant sales of turnkey solutions including all hardware sub•systems (high performance storage, archiving systems, video and IT servers) and a complete package of design, deployment and support services where Dalet acts as prime•contractor. Negotiated contracts with many clients for project delivery and provision of long•term support services. Leading all of Dalet's successful bids at the BBC since 2006 for the Arabic and Persian TV news services, in 2009, the Dalet bids for the BBC JPT • Journalism Production Tools (selected by BBC as their preferred solution) and VE&P • Video Editing and Playout) tender, winning a multi•million GBP 5 year Framework Agreement for Playout Automation as prime•contractor, and in 2013 the BBC Sport Archive Asset Management system.   Joined Teac Corporation, a $1bn+ Japanese multi•national enterprise working across the European subsidiaries to provide input into the global product development decision•making group alongside Teac USA and Teac Japan. The role spanned several of Teac's lines of business, IT/Computer, Professional Audio/Video and Consumer (HiFi) and involved identifying synergies between R&D activities that could produce products that could apply to the growing AV media industry.   Soundscape was a leader in the area of Digital Audio Workstations on Windows from the early 1990's, pioneering multi•channel audio recording and editing for music studios, broadcast and sound for picture. Evangelised the technology in the early days, resulting in around 10,000 Soundscape systems being sold worldwide. Soundscape had subsiduaries in USA, Singapore and Australia and its business had a strong international focus, with around 70% of revenue in export markets. Soundscape was an extremely well respected name in recording and post•production and was used by many top musicians, studios and post•houses. Several successful mainstream Hollywood TV series and films used Soundscape for all sound•for•picture post•production activities. Determined the market focus for all products and was deeply involved in all R&D activties. Managed over 40 development partnerships with well known companies like Cedar, Dolby, Dalet, RCS, TC Electronics, Leitch/DPS, Discreet, Teac, Mackie, Drawmer etc., where Soundscape products were either embedded in 3rd party products or software plug•ins were created to run on the Soundscape platform. Soundscape incorporated video components from Fast, Matrox, DPS and others for direct sound•for•picture application from one system. Developed patented digitally controlled tracking filters utilizing the newest multiplying AD/DA devices. Developed radio control & communications systems for private FM/AM 300MHz band, used in taxis, banks, security vehicles, ambulances etc with Motorola, Philips & Burndept•Dymar radios. Developed the BT Safeguard, a personal trigger/alarm for the elderly, Data•over•Voice modems and the Linesman test telephone system all marketed by British Telecom. Within the time spent at Voice Microsystems, attended University of Wales full time for 3 years and gained an Honours Degree. Developed in Unix, C and assembler programming for various systems, with VMS, CPM/80 and Unix operating systems, and HP’s CPU specific development system.   AB Electronics originally manufactured connectors and thick film microcircuits for military, automotive and general electronics use, but became the first European manufacturer for the IBM PC and built computers for many other brands including BBC Micro, Acorn, Sinclair, Commodore. Initially based in the Electronics Lab, worked on microprocessor automation of pneumatic production processes, pulse electroplating systems, electronics for engine control systems with linear motor actuators for Ford and Jaguar engines using thick film hybrid circuits, temperature/humidity control electronics for 'clean rooms'. Construction & software design for several single board computers (8 and 16bit) based around Rockwell (1802, 6502), Motorola (6800, 68000) and Zilog (Z80) microprocessors).
