It all began with a fifteenth-century farmhouse we stumbled upon during a family visit. Thick stone walls, a mountain stream, fruit trees and cactus — it felt more like a movie set than real life. Fast-forward a few years: we were still in London, juggling work, a mortgage, and the arrival of our first child, when a message from my mum changed everything. “The neighbour’s house is for sale. Want me to send the video?” We didn’t hesitate: “Of course!” On the long drive back to the UK, somewhere between Carcassonne and Calais, we filled a notebook with ideas. By the time we reached Eurotunnel, Pyrenees Cycling Club was born — on paper first, and later in reality.
