  (1 year 1 month) Whilst at Durham University, I was successful in securing a professional placement at GlaxoSmithKline, as a Primary Pharmacology Research Scientist. The role involved developing and validating receptor binding assays (RBA's) which are now used to screen large panels of antibodies. • Independently developed a high-throughput screening assay and generated a subsequent Standard Operating Procedure that has been adopted by the department for Biopharm molecule screening. • Generated data analysis reports, interpreted results and reported conclusions to stakeholder teams. • Championed and implemented Design of Experiment to achieve a reduction in timelines to assay development. • Delivered presentations to department and project teams on innovative ways of developing assays. • Initiated uptake of automation usage and provided continued support to colleagues by leading knowledge share sessions with members of the team. • Planned resourcing for experiments including reagents, booking equipment and coordinating with other scientists. • Organised meetings with sales representatives from prestigious external companies in order to make a cost-effective analysis of their product and assess its commercial viability. • Learnt a variety of mammalian tissue culture techniques.
