My research project was supervised by Dr. Simona Feancese, Senior lecturer in biomedical sciences at Sheffield Hallam University. Through my project I gained experience in aspect of determine the presence of a drug by the mass spectrometry based approach and gaining diagnostic information from a fingerprint by the use of MALDI Mass Spectrometry to detect and quantify drugs through analysing secretions found in a fingerprint. During my MSc in pharmaceutical Analysis, I gained experience in different aspects of Identification and quantification of drug by Gas chromatography, Perfume comparison by GLC and GC-Mass, development the knowledge of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV absorbance detection, and use it to identify and quantify the active compound in a suspected illicit drug sample. And used variety of techniques that would be directly applicable many job vacancies.
