The objectives of the Project: The Project involves the design, engineering, construction, operation, maintenance, and transfer of a 1500MW greenfield combined‐cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant and associated infrastructure to be implemented as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) facility. The new plant, located near the border with Tajikistan, will replace an ageing, less efficient thermal power facility, resulting in lower operating costs and a significant reduction in GHG emissions. The Project scope also includes the construction, Testing commissioning & transfer of a 500/220kV switchgear station to the JSC National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan. This AIS switchgear station will be a common facility between the ACWA Power Syrdarya Project and the adjacent CCGT project + JSC National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of the switchgear station once it has been constructed.
