The role will support and contribute to our Research & Consulting team in Shanghai.Some general responsibilities are summarised below.1. Client Communications and Documentation EditingProofreading, editing and writing of key documents which are sent to CBBC’s clients, including:• Reports on events organised by CBBC in China, and summaries of itineraries of outbound British business delegations • Proposals and quotations for clients using CBBC’s events and missions services• Helping with client communications • Editing other documents representing various project milestones such as “target lists” of Chinese companies which CBBC introduces to UK clients• Occasionally conducting own research and writing reports, as delegated from core team 2. Promotion of ServicesWith the specific purpose of promoting services CBBC deliver for UKTI, the holder of this position will be expected to:• Liaising with UK team on promotional activities• Follow up with former clients on their experience and aftersales support they may need• Follow up with clients who have asked for project proposals• Promote CBBC’s research services to previous clients of other services• Create profiles of CBBC research staff to include in proposals and marketing• Promote CBBC’s research services at eventsRequirements of Applicants Organisation and communication skills will be critical, and it will require considerable self-motivation, discipline and organisation. We are specifically looking for applicants with:• Native English speaker. Knowledge of Mandarin preferred not essential• Degree level education, ideally with a background in business, management, business information systems, international relations or sinology• Two years’ work experience• Highly organised, practical, persuasive • Effective team-working ability, outgoing personability and able to communicate effectively with a wide network of people from a mixture of backgrounds• Ability to manage large amounts of information and juggle multiple activities simultaneously • Preferable to have some previous relevant work/intern experience • Proficiency using Excel, Word and PowerPoint (Access preferred)Applications with covering letter should be sent to (login to view email)The closing date for application is 18th September 201 4.
