Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performanceThe University of Nottingham Ningbo China’s School of Computer Science is seeking to recruit a Research Fellow (in Computer Science; outsourced).About The RoleIn this position, you will play a key role in driving high-impact research, developing innovative objectives, and formulating proposals within cutting-edge fields, including Computer Vision, Digital Healthcare, AI Optimization, and Software Testing. You will have the opportunity to leverage your initiative and creativity to expand your research portfolio, co-supervise talented research students, write proposals for external funding (particularly provincial and national NSF grants for young researchers), and publish work in top-tier international venues.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch & Experimentation (40%): Plan and execute research using recognized methodologies; analyze data, implement experiments, interpret results, and generate novel insights in AI, computer vision, digital health, or software testing.Publication & Dissemination (20%): Lead the writing of high-quality papers for top-tier journals/conferences and present findings at national and international venues.Grant & Proposal Writing (10%): Identify funding opportunities and assist in preparing competitive grant applications for internal and external bodies.Supervision & Mentorship (10%): Co-supervise Master’s and PhD projects, and mentor undergraduate/postgraduate research work and placements.Collaboration & Networking (10%): Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, build research networks, and coordinate shared projects.Operations & Development (10%): Manage research resources/labs, resolve research challenges, participate in staff development, and support operational duties.About UsJoin a unique British University in China. About YouEducation & Qualifications:A PhD degree in Computer Science or a related area awarded within the last 3 years, or proof of successful completion of a PhD.Eligibility to apply for provincial and national NSF grants for young researchers.Publication Record:Proven experience as 1st author publishing in top-tier journals or conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, AAAI, MICCAI, ICLR, TMI, MedIA, TMM, TCSVT, etc.Skills & Experience:Practical experience in applying research methodologies, models, and techniques relevant to the role.High analytical capability to interpret complex data, conduct experiments, and evaluate research texts critically.Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.Strong collaborative and relationship-building skills across internal and external stakeholders.Desirable RequirementsDemonstrated success in securing external research grant funding.Ability to foster a vibrant research culture and mentor/inspire learning in others.
