Job Title: Operation & Lean Manager
Company: Agilian (Part of the Sofeast Group)
Location: Dongguan, China
About Us and the Role's Context:
The Sofeast Group is a leading one-stop product development and manufacturing solutions provider, focusing on innovative consumer electronics and small household appliances. We have built a complete ecosystem from concept (ID, MD, electronic & software design) to global delivery (prototyping, mold development, pilot run, mass production, logistics). Our core strength lies in two highly synergistic entities:
• Agilian: The central hub for finished product manufacturing, responsible for the entire process from R&D, prototyping, pilot runs to mass production and assembly. It specializes in technology-intensive electronic products and excels at managing the complexities of a "high-mix, low-volume" order model.
• AgPM (Our Proprietary Mold & Injection Molding Factory): Provides professional mold design, manufacturing, and precision injection molding services, ensuring a critical supply of high-quality plastic components to Agilian.
In a landscape of fierce competition and rapid product iteration, to continuously enhance operational excellence and ensure key projects achieve the optimal balance of efficiency, quality, and cost, we are now seeking a strategically minded and highly driven Operation & Lean Manager. This role will be a core member of the Agilian management team, directly responsible for driving the digital transformation and lean evolution of our operational systems, and is crucial to achieving our strategic company goals.
Position Overview:
As the Operation & Lean Manager at Agilian, you will be the architect and catalyst of our operational strategy. Your core mission extends beyond traditional production management; you will act as an integrator, driver, and reformer, systematically optimizing the end-to-end value stream from New Product Introduction (NPI) to volume delivery. You will deeply leverage Lean manufacturing principles, data analysis, and automation technologies to lead cross-functional departments (PMC, R&D, Production, Quality, NPI, PE) in establishing highly efficient, agile, and reliable operational processes. You are not just a problem-solver, but an exceptional process builder and team enabler, directly accountable for Agilian's operational performance, quality standards, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities and Expected Impact:
1. End-to-End Process Optimization & Lean Culture Building
• Champion the transformation to a continuous improvement culture at Agilian, designing and implementing a Lean management system suited for a "high-mix, low-volume" environment.
• Use Value Stream Mapping to systematically diagnose the entire process from order receipt to product shipment, identifying and eliminating the seven wastes in material, information, and process flows.
• Establish a standardized framework for continuous improvement activities, coaching and empowering teams to apply Lean tools such as 5S, Standardized Work, Quick Changeover, Kanban, and Poka-Yoke.
• Focus specifically on optimizing the NPI process, ensuring seamless and efficient transition from design to manufacture, reducing recurring issues during pilot runs, and accelerating production ramp-up.
• Explore and drive the implementation of Automation and AI solutions in areas like quality inspection, production data analysis, and predictive maintenance, leveraging technology to achieve step-change improvements in efficiency and quality.
2. Integrated Tracking of Operational Excellence & Projects
• Act as the operational lead for company-critical projects, establishing robust project tracking and early warning mechanisms to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality targets.
• Develop and maintain a visual operational performance dashboard, providing real-time monitoring and reporting of KPIs such as On-Time Delivery, Production Cycle Time, First Pass Yield, PPM, and OEE.
• Deeply engage with the PMC process, overseeing the alignment of production planning with material control, optimizing inventory strategies (especially for long-lead-time, multi-variant electronic components), and improving inventory turnover.
• Coordinate the interface process between Agilian and AgPM, ensuring the quality, delivery, and assembly plans for molded parts are tightly synchronized.
3. Cross-Functional Leadership & Problem Solving
• Proactively drive coordination among key roles including PMC, R&D Manager, Production Manager, Quality Manager, NPI Manager, and PE Supervisor, breaking down functional silos and establishing customer-centric collaborative workflows.
• Lead the resolution of the most complex and persistent production problems, particularly those involving hardware-software integration, PCBA functional failures, and supply chain fluctuations. Employ structured methodologies like Root Cause Analysis and 8D to ensure problems are permanently closed.
• Facilitate regular operational coordination meetings, driving accountability and ensuring the effective execution and sustainability of improvement actions.
• Hold responsibility for overseeing and optimizing the accuracy, completeness, and change management processes for the BOM, ensuring production stability from the source.
4. Strategic Cost Control & Value Engineering
• Assist the Financial Controller in setting operational budgets and cost control targets, decomposing them into actionable metrics for various departments.
• Go beyond traditional "cost reduction" by leading Value Engineering activities, collaborating with the R&D team to optimize product design for cost.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of the manufacturing cost structure, systematically reducing the cost of quality and operational expenses through process re-engineering, efficiency gains, yield improvement, and waste elimination.
• Evaluate the return on investment for new processes, equipment, and automation projects, providing data-driven support for capital expenditure decisions.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Mandatory Requirements:
• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, Lean promotion, or senior project management within manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a role leading cross-functional improvement teams.
• Core Industry Experience: Must possess a profound background in the electronic assembly industry, with expertise in processes, challenges, and quality control points across SMT, PCBA testing, firmware burning, functional testing, final assembly, and packaging.
• Production Model Expertise: Must be an expert in "high-mix, low-volume" production models, with proven experience successfully designing flexible manufacturing systems, material handling systems, and production control systems in a highly customized, fast-changing environment.
• Professional Knowledge Depth:
o Lean Manufacturing: Proficient in Lean principles and tools, with a verified track record of leading value stream transformation projects. Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a significant advantage.

o NPI Process: Thoroughly familiar with all stages of NPI (from DVT/PVT to MP) and capable of managing associated deliverables and risks.
o BOM Management: Familiar with BOM structure in ERP systems and the impact of Engineering Change Orders on production.
• Technical Acumen: Deep understanding and strong interest in the application scenarios of industrial automation, IoT, and AI in manufacturing, with experience or a strong desire to drive the implementation of related projects.
Soft Skills & Personal Attributes:
• Driving Force & Execution: Possess strong determination and influence to drive change within a dynamic, diverse organization. Must be undeterred by obstacles, ensuring strategies and projects are implemented effectively and deliver tangible results.
• Out-of-the-Box Thinking: Dissatisfied with the status quo, able to challenge conventional practices with critical and creative thinking, and propose and experiment with innovative solutions.
• Cross-Cultural Leadership: Excellent communication, coordination, and persuasion skills in both English and Chinese. Able to collaborate effectively with both Chinese and Western management teams, customers, and suppliers, and inspire teams to achieve common goals.
• Results-Oriented: Data-sensitive, fact-based decision-maker with a strong sense of responsibility for achieving key operational performance indicators.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in large manufacturing enterprises with Western management culture, particularly in the consumer electronics sector.
• Proven experience successfully leading a plant-wide Lean transformation or digital upgrade project.
• Basic financial knowledge, with the ability to read and analyze operationally relevant data from financial statements.
What We Offer:
• A highly competitive compensation package commensurate with your experience and contribution.
• A core leadership role where you can utilize your talents and create visible impact.
• The opportunity to work with a top-tier, international team on cutting-edge innovative products and technologies.
• A broad career development platform with direct involvement in company strategic decisions.
• A comprehensive benefits package and flexible vacation system.
