Business report writer and researcher for a foreign investment companyJob descriptionA well-established investment management and advisory company based in Beijing and operating throughout China is seeking to fill a writer/researcher position. The team is small and management culture flat, therefore the candidate must operate with a high degree of autonomy in supporting the company’s business activities. The role involves writing notes and client deliverables, formatting reports, conducting research, and assisting the company to meet its deadlines by creating written work (in English) of the highest standard.

Specific responsibilities• Creating written material (in English) to be used as client deliverables, which may include: short memorandums; advisory notes; graphs and tables; maps; PowerPoint presentations; and long-form reports• Formatting work in company style to be used as client deliverables• Recording internal notes on company meetings• Editing the written work of colleagues• Conducting online research in English (the ability to conduct research in Chinese would be an advantage)• Travelling with the investment team around China to conduct fieldworkSkills required• Written and oral communication skills in English of the highest standard• The ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred• Integrity, as well as professional and personal maturity• A strong interest in China, Chinese markets and doing business in China• High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook• Must be prepared to travel extensively in ChinaQualifications and experience• A strong undergraduate degree, preferably in a social science or humanities subject• Demonstrated professional English writing experience• Resident in China for at least one year and preferably over two years• Demonstrable interest in ChinaLocationBeijing
