Job responsibilities
We are currently seeking qualified candidates with the passion, capabilities, and experience to support AmCham China’s government affairs and policy-related services. Operating at the heart of the foreign business community in China, this position is a unique, exceptional opportunity to engage with leaders of global companies and government officials from the US and China in a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative environment.
The direction of today’s complex US-China relationship has significant ramifications for both countries and the world. As the largest foreign chamber of commerce in China, AmCham China plays an important role in supporting a more positive commercial bilateral relationship. This position provides the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to play a constructive role in building a more sustainable US-China commercial relationship.
Job Overview
As a primary pillar in our pursuit of improving the business environment and helping American companies succeed in China, AmCham China’s advocacy efforts address a wide scope of industry needs and extend from the central to the local levels of both the Chinese and US governments. AmCham China is not affiliated with any branch of government but works closely with both the Chinese and US governments. Such government engagement is underpinned by the Chamber’s vision to enhance the business environment in China and strengthen cooperation and understanding between the US and China.
The GA and Policy Associate/Manager will support implementation of the Chamber’s relevant initiatives through delivery of traditional and new value-added services in coordination with colleagues across the organization, ensuring maximum member value in the core Chamber areas of Advocacy, Access, and Insights. This will include a primary focus on the monitoring of regulatory and legislative changes across a wide variety of industries and sectors, while driving AmCham China’s policy and advocacy efforts through the publication of policy reports – including the annual White Paper, government submissions and outreach, and programs and events with the support of AmCham China’s Policy Committee.
