Jobs in China for Foreigners without a Degree

Chinese policymakers place a high value on education, and students may expect to get a bachelor's degree in four years or less. They graduate from college with no marketable skills but a notion that they are entitled to high-paying office jobs because of their education. Non-grads have various options in the Chinese employment market as well, as it is not just geared toward the white-collar graduates. If you have a high school diploma or a middle college credential, you may work in China without a degree.

As part of their research, the Harvard Graduate School of Education concluded that society places an excessive amount of stress on a single route to success, namely four-year college attendance and graduation. A bachelor's degree is not required to work in the area of nursing. There are a lot of employment vacancies in this region, which is why it's developing so quickly. Nursing license, three months internship, passing the Chinese NCLEX, fluency in English and Mandarin fluency are all required to work as a nurse in China. Because of the large number of foreign nationals and international organizations in China, it is possible to work as a nurse in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and medical offices. Dental hygienists, radiologic technologists and technicians, respiratory therapists and physical therapist assistants are some positions in healthcare that just need an associate's degree.


The construction business is the most popular for those seeking employment in China who lack a university degree. A scarcity of competent workers in this area is a problem in China. A shortage of labor persists despite higher wages and perks for workers. Most Chinese college grads would prefer be jobless than take on low-paying manual labor employment. As long as you remain working, you can earn enough money to pay for your degree while still completing your studies. On the job or vocational training and a high school diploma are all that is needed for these positions. With on-the-job training, it is possible to earn while you are learning. In today's employment environment, experience trumps credentials more often than not.

Numerous Chinese manufacturing firms will employ foreigners in sales and business development positions even if they lack a formal education. A high school education is all that is required for most sales jobs; it's all about your personality, sales attitude and ability to represent the firm and put the goods out there that matters most in these roles.
