  Barcelona Zettascale Lab is a project with the objective of improving Europe’s capacity in the design and manufacture of high-performance computing chips. This critical step is aimed at achieving European technological sovereignty. Our laboratory focuses on creating prototypes based on RISC-V technology, with the vision of developing advanced prototypes of processors that will eventually be integrated into future European supercomputers. The initiative seeks to reduce Europe’s dependence on hardware technologies from third countries in the design of supercomputers and other industrial applications such as autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence.

Some ohter milestones include: Creating real-time predictive knowledge and forecasts including federated learning, complex event forecasting under uncertainty and techniques for Prediction-as-a-Service. Reduce perceived complexity via graphical workflow design and visual anlaytics coupled with eXplainable AI approaches and augmented reality under uncertainty.
