Mechanical Engineer Mar. 2019 – Present Prototype new products in SolidWorks. Perform first article assembly and design verification testing. Contact with production on the transfer of new design to manufacturing. Iteratively improve and optimize products by users feedbacks. Design and build new product mechanical prototypes of the InstaMark® handheld fiber laser marker and the NoNic® handheld wire stripper. Worked with a team to design and manufacture the new multi-laser IC failure analysis workstation: FALIT® TRIO for high-end semiconductor customers. More than 30 units were sold so far. Make bill of materials (BOM) of products for purchasing department and make assembly drawings for production department. Redesigned critical machine parts of existing laser system models to reduce the cost by up to 10%. Reconfigured sub-assemblies of active products to reduce the inventory by 30% in recent years. Project Engineer Mar. 2020 – Present Coordinate a team of software, electrical and mechanical engineers in new product development and custom module integration. Make plans on the project timeline and budget. Closely communicate with customers to meet the user requirements and deadlines. Worked with a team to outsource best seller machine models to overseas vendors, reducing their cost by up to 30%. Act as the engineering liaison to key vendors like machine shops, assembly plants and PCB houses. Write documents of machine specifications for FDA laser product safety regulatory reports. Arranged and attended trade shows including ISTFA, SHOT Show, Fabtech and IMTS as the corporate sales representative. Brought back over 100 leads in total.
