    Served as the chief executive of a model job training and education center. Administered operations for a local branch of a nationally-renowned vocational training and placement organization. Recruited, hired, supervised and evaluated team of 20 full-time staff in provision of occupational training, ESL/GED, job readiness and life skills to 200 low-income Spanish-speaking immigrants, out-of school-youth and homeless adults in the Mission District of San Francisco. Represented organization in external affairs (including Mayor’s Mission Task Force, Private Industry Council). Raised funds for $40 million corporate headquarters in San Jose. Accomplishments: • Increased percentage of foundation revenues from 0 to over 25% of budget by raising $355,000 in new foundation grants for Center, $520,000 for the national office; • Achieved first budget surplus for the Center (a turnaround in chronic deficits);• Increased job placement rate from 67% to 82%, the highest for CET in the region;• Expanded organizational capacity by 25%, increasing number of trainee slots from 160 to 220 served annually and the number of staff from 15 to 20.
