Performed engineering design work and power studies under professional supervision for mission critical facilities, data centers, and trade floors, as well as electric vehicle charging stations according to NFPA-National Electric Code (N.E.C.) and local ordinance requirements. Electrical distribution (LV & MV) varied from Kilowatts (kW/kVA) to Gigawatts (i.e. zero-emission colocation campuses). Developed experience designing drawings and supervising drafters, BIM coordinators, and design-specialists on larger projects. Utilized prior experience to create designs and drafts in AutoCAD and Revit on smaller projects. Performed internal review of design iterations and provided redlined feedback to ensure quality control. Electrically detailed design packages were reviewed and updated per a licensed professional engineer's instructions prior to issuing client deliverables at each milestone, as well as prior to issuing stamped sets for construction. Milestone drawing sets were issued weekly or biweekly for standard projects and monthly for large-scale campuses. Performed simulation and analysis of mission critical electrical distribution systems per NFPA-70E, for both medium and low voltage, under licensed engineer's supervision. Studies performed in ETAP & PTW software. Studies and work included: load flow, voltage drop calculations, Neher-McGrath thermal studies for underground systems and duct banks at medium voltage, short circuit coordination studies, arc flash analysis and labeling, medium voltage relay coordination, and low voltage trip unit coordination. Plots of time-current curves were issued alongside overcurrent protection settings, formatted in Excel. Responsible for creating scripts and programs to automate and validate engineering design across multiple disciplines. Scripting work performed in C, XML, Dynamo. Plan to develop competency in .NET, VBA, C++, and Python. Developed linked databases and code for deployment of CAD/BIM resources across company. Show less
