  • Residential Community Director, Ware Residential Commons

    Southern Methodist University
    2017.01-2022.01(5 years)
As the Residential Community Director in Ware Commons, I oversaw a community of 256 undergraduate residents, managed a staff of 8 dedicated Resident Assistants, worked directly with Faculty-in-Residence, and advised a student-led community governing board. My favorite part of my role was empowering university students to shape the culture of our diverse residential community and prepare them for success after graduation. As the Residential Community Director, I built trust and maintained relationships with multiple groups of people, encouraging all parties to lead with purpose, integrity, and compassion. A large focus of my role included serving on talent acquisition and recruitment teams. I co-conducted the annual full cycle Resident Assistant recruitment process, which consists of 100~ undergraduate positions on campus. On this team, I led trainings for current Resident Assistants serving as peer recruiting ambassadors, developed and communicated campus-wide marketing efforts, wrote and sent application information to prospects via Mailchimp, and hosted welcome celebrations for new hires. In addition, I served on the professional staff recruitment team, which included sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and hosting graduate-level candidates. I hosted in-person and virtual socials for up to 25 candidates per event. I oversaw robust marketing and branding efforts, including print materials and magazine-style recruitment guides. I also assisted with recruitment and interview processes for various other opportunities at the University, from faculty-in-residence recruitment to summer graduate intern recruitment to on-campus scholarship interviews for incoming undergraduate students. Along with my Residential Community Director responsibilities, I also served as a Contact Tracer for the University, helping maintain safety, support, and confidentiality for COVID-19 student cases and contacts.
  • Residential Coordinator, Honors

    Tarleton State University
    2015.01-2017.01(2 years)
In the Residential Coordinator role, I led communities of 500~ pre-professional health, science, engineering, and Honors undergraduate students. My direct interest and contribution included directing the Residential Leader group interview and pooled hiring processes for 700~ applicants each cycle. In addition, I co-authored and instructed Student Leadership 101 and 102 courses, which serve as a continuation of the interview process. I opened a newly constructed honors housing community and worked directly with student leaders and constituents to ignite its foundational existence. I also led efforts to source, recruit, hire, and onboard full-time, graduate-level housing staff for the University. I served as the primary lead and contact at The Placement Exchange, an annual national recruiting conference for 900~ full-time, master’s-level candidates. I managed all prospects’ materials using a conference-specific ATS and led all communication efforts with candidates. I scripted and organized all interview materials and led a recruitment team of 5 staff members at multiple levels.
