(2 years 4 months) Vocalis develops AI-based technology that reduces the hospitalization of respiratory patients. At Vocalis I developed vocal biomarkers for breathlessness using machine learning. This biomarker formed the basis of VocalisTrack a digital medical tool with CE Mark .

(1 year 2 months) At ThoughtExpress I designed, developed and supported products providing new functionality to our customers. I also developed internal tools that used neural networks to automate business processes.

(2 years 1 month) At GreenCape I focused on understanding core aspects around the electricity supply and demand markets in South Africa. Much of this work involved interacting with the municipal electricity business. I specifically focused on the impact that tariff structure and new technologies (such as SSEG andBatteries) have on sustainability of the municipality. Overall I worked on a diverse set of projects ranging from giving general tariff advice to municipal electrical managers to calculating the financial impact of the changing energy landscape. I was also involved in commenting on the NERSA SSEG rules and regulations as well as assisting in the project management of the NRS049 Smart Metering Standard. As part of my work I wrote and presented an award winning paper on SSEG at the Association of Municipal Electricity Utilities (AMEU) general conference.

I developed a web-plugin for the Wits REDCap medical database system. I built a backend and a simple GUI that allowed researchers to print out custom reports based on information within the database.
