I have extensive managerial experience in senior roles, a broad science and engineering background, and many years’ experience with Health & Safety, Environment and Quality Management Systems, internal auditing, marketing, training and development. Following a successful twenty year career in heavy engineering I chose a path in biomedical sciences and the healthcare industry where I specialised in toxicology and pathology; specifically in the field of psychoactive substances, venepuncture, and stem cells harvesting. For ten years I managed a busy outpatient phlebotomy service under rolling contract to the NHS, treating nearly half million patients. With a 100% bleed rate, the service commanded great respect from the local patient community and a reputation within the NHS for efficiency and excellent patient care. Life is currently split between Anshan (Liaoning province), China and the UK where I fulfil my role and responsibilities of General Manager at Noviche BioScience Ltd., a Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered organisation. I also provide independent consultancy and impartial investigations on matters within the realm of my expertise. In China, in addition to studying Chinese Medicine, I teach English language to private students, teachers, and under-privileged young people from rural communities in the heartland of China’s industrial Northeast. My classes include grammatical awareness, lexis & phonology, listening skills, reading skills, writing skills, speaking skills, and classroom strategy for teachers. In pursuing my ambitions as a writer, I have taken up freelance creative writing; working on blogs, web sites, social media content, and a book about everyday life in China. I have a lifelong passion for anything motorcycle related which has seen me train as a motorcycle mechanic, become a Fellow of The Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists, and taken me over 250,000 miles across most of Europe.
