In this role, I supported status maintenance of over 300 F-1 students, and student support of F-1 students and global nomads. Collaborating with various campus offices and community organizations, I advocated for international students and their success.

Working with the International Student and Scholars team at Pace University, I assisted in supporting the needs of approximately 2,000 international students at three different campuses as a Designated School Official (DSO), and Alternate Responsible Officer.

-Provided advising to international students including information on immigration regulations, and support services such as Social Security Numbers, US tax expectations, and cross-cultural adjustment.-Assisted with new international student check-in and the preparation and execution of International Student Orientation.-Supervised and created new procedures and a supervisory model for the Diversity Advocates (a student leader organization) which includes the implementation of 15 active and passive programs throughout the year impacting the Juilliard community.-Aided the Assistant Dean of International Advisement and Diversity Initiatives to implement Juilliard’s first Diversity Symposiums, Safe Zone student training, and other diversity initiatives.-Served as a member of the Student Engagement Team (SET) to create campus-wide educational and community programming focused on diversity and inclusion, professional development, life skills and health and wellness.-Served in an on-call duty rotation as the first tier professional staff contact for campus crisis and emergencies both in the main campus and residence hall.

Fielded phone calls pertaining to International Student and Scholar Services and Education Abroad.Utilized Terra Dotta ISS systems to review documents for DS-2019 creation. Provided customer-focused service to community members. Assisted with exchange student orientation.

-Provided small business solutions through AT&T inbound and outbound sales calls. -Received monthly quality ratings of 90% or higher on calls; exemplifying a customer service attitude. -Researched current products to ensure customer needs were being met.

-Developed a curriculum for the district-wide Chinese program grades 6-12 in three different schools. (Glenwood, Oakwood, and GlenOak High School).-Taught Chinese II (Grades 9-12), Chinese I (Grades 8-12), Chinese Language and Culture (Grade 7), a Chinese Cultural Experience Course (Grade 6), and Contemporary Issues (Grade 7/8) throughout Plain Local Schools District.-Communicated with the University of Akron Confucius Institute to bring authentic Chinese language and culture activities to students. -Communicated with parents and guardians through e-mail, phone calls, parent-teacher conferences, online resources (Ex: Google classroom) and through a monthly Chinese program newsletter. -Handled finances, and organizing field trip opportunity for students Grades 6-12 for University of Akrons Confucius Institutes China Day. -Planned, organized, and successfully found vendors to donate for Plain Local Schools Celebrate Diversity community event.

Cooperated with Akron University Confucius Institute faculty and volunteers to host a summer camp for students grades 7-12 about Chinese language and culture. Aided in planning and management of activities. Chaperoned students and assisted with camp related activities during camp.

Working for the School of International Studies, I teach Oral English, English Writing I, and a course in a preparatory program called, Watch, Listen, Speak. In addition to my time in the classroom, I also work as a foreign faculty mentor to the English Writing Center, providing services to students who wish to improve their English writing skills and training/advising the tutors who work in the center.

Resident Assistant for the Global Connections Living Learning Community. Learning Community focuses on fostering cultural competency and building an understanding for a diverse international world. Aided international and domestic students first-year students transition into successful and healthy college lifestyles. Planned programs such as: Tibetan Meditation and Introduction to Buddhism, International Thanksgiving, Insight Into India, Dialogue on Gender Equality, Chips and Salsa Dancing. Has worked with the French and Chinese Living Learning Communities, and First Year Communities in the past. Focused on connecting students to resources and activities related to Francophone nations and China.
