• Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect medical equipment and instrumentation, to include but not limited to life-support equipment, laboratory equipment, surgical equipment, patient monitoring, central stations setup, networking, and medical information technology equipment • Coordinates, approves, and install new medical equipment by conducting tests; ensuring adherence to codes; making modifications, calibrating, and testing performance • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and electrical safety (ES) testing of clinical equipment, devices and systems • Diagnose and correct system malfunction due to operator error or system failure • Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections and equipment repairs and failures • Assist with and evaluate third party repairs • Provide technical assistance and instructions to personnel regarding equipment operation and maintenance • Review outcome of preventive maintenance actions and make recommendations to department staff concerning improvements • Help with the training of 2 fresh graduate engineers on the professional techniques of safe operation of medical equipment, on our policies, protocols, how to use our systems, familiarity with the organization and our scope of coverage within this organization, rounds to several departments to introduce new members of our team to our customers. The 2 engineers shadowed me on a daily basis during all activities of installation, maintenance, customer service, troubleshooting, system upgrades – both software and hardware, documentation of all activities and follow up with customers, coordination with several vendors involved in our department operations, and maintaining good relations with each other as a team and with all hospital departments as our customers.
