  As part of my commitment to enriching students’ cultural understanding beyond the classroom, I led a co-curricular activity (CCA) focused on Spanish Festivals and Culture. This CCA provided students with an immersive, hands-on experience of the vibrant traditions and customs of the Spanish-speaking world. Each session was centered around a well-known Spanish or Latin American festival—such as La Tomatina, Día de los Muertos, Las Fallas, Semana Santa, and Carnaval—and included cultural storytelling, multimedia presentations, and interactive discussions. Students explored the historical and cultural significance of each celebration, and we integrated creative projects such as mask-making, poster design, dance, cooking demonstrations, and music appreciation to bring these traditions to life. The CCA encouraged students to engage with authentic materials—videos, songs, short articles, and cultural artifacts—allowing them to connect language learning with real-world cultural practices. By the end of the term, students presented a cultural showcase that included short performances, visual displays, and presentations, demonstrating their understanding of the festivals and their enthusiasm for Spanish culture.
