For a lot of people who are thinking about coming to China to teach English or to start their own business, they want to know what the experience will be like. What are jobs like in China?
Well, there is a lot more to it than just teaching English or starting a business.
So in this article, I’m going to briefly talk about the reality of working in China.
1. Working in China is different than working in the west
I remember when I first came to China, I thought I would have a similar experience to working in the west. I thought I would have the same opportunities to advance, to grow, to be promoted.
But I was wrong.
I quickly realized that working in China was different than working in the west. My first big realization was that I was paid less than my colleagues.
But the biggest difference was that I was expected to work twice as hard as my colleagues.
And I was expected to work twice as hard as my colleagues. I was expected to put in more hours than my colleagues. I was expected to work late hours, and I was expected to work on weekends.

So, I had less opportunities and I had to work twice as hard as my colleagues.
2. The pay is not as good as you think
If you think that you’re going to make a lot of money teaching English in China, you’re going to be disappointed.
The average salary for a teacher in China is about $1,500 per month.
And if you’re teaching in a school, the average salary is even lower.

3. The jobs are very competitive
