Global Accounting Network is extending it's international reach with a retained search for a Finance Director for the Shanghai office of one of our UK clients. We are currently therefore looking for UK based, Mandarin speaking Financial Controllers or Finance Directors who would like to relocate to Beijing.The ClientThe parent company is a global investment business with a strong hold in the media and entertainment world. This subsidiary is well known in the music industry and operates with major names and labels across the far east. Currently they employ over 200 people, have excellent artists under management and are well set for growth.The RoleAs Group Finance Director, you will be the key finance person operating across the HK, China and Taiwan region. This hire is crucial to the growth of the business and will form a very strong alliance with an entrepreneurial and driven CEO. As the key finance person, you will have overall responsibility for all of the core finance activities, including tax, treasury, financial and management reporting, group audit and corporate finance, supported by a very able Financial Controller and team.Aside from the BAU responsibilities, you will partner the CEO and work with the other operational heads to drive the strategy of the business and help them achieve their business goals. This will mean you could be involved in negotiating contracts with artists, providing the commercial finance expertise behind their marketing campaigns, their corporate finance and their growth strategies. You will also play a key role in managing the relationship with the parent company.Overall this would suit a very good Finance Director who is looking for a move into a faster paced driven environment, or a Senior Financial Controller looking for their first Finance Director post. Candidate should be:

Qualified Accountant, ideally from a Public Practice background* Extremely good technically, with experience of IFRS and UK Gaap* Fluent in MANDARIN AND ENGLISH* Very good in person and able to motivate and drive a team* Very commercially aware with proven track record of commercial finance / business partnering
