China Visas

The number of arrivals shows the number of times visa holders can enter China as long as the visa is valid. If the visa expires, the holder will no longer be able to enter China, even if there are still unused entries.

How much is the visa application fee in China? The cost of applying for a visa depends on the following factors:

Generally speaking, the cost of applying for a visa for a U.S. citizen is $140, while the cost of a visa for other countries is between $30 and $90.

Types of China Visas

Visitor Visa

Visa L: this visa is for foreigners who are going to China as tourists. The tourist visa is issued at one time and is valid for 30 days.

Tourist group visa: this visa is issued to at least five tourist groups whose members must travel together.

Visa F: this visa is applicable to non-business activities such as exchange, visit, and investigation in China. This is a one-way or two-way visa valid for 30 to 90 days.

Visa M: this visa is for business and trade. Visa m is usually issued in the form of one-way, two-way, or multiple entries and is valid for up to 10 years.

Student Visa

X1 visa: a long-term visa issued to students who intend to stay in China for more than six months. If you want to pursue undergraduate, graduate, and graduate degrees, you can apply for this visa. This visa is valid for up to 5 years.

X2 visa: a short-term visa issued for a study program, with a term of fewer than six months. Applicants for language courses and short-term training courses may apply for this student visa. Unlike visa x1, this visa is issued as an entry.

Work Visa

Visa J (j 1, j 2): to foreign resident journalists and their accompanying family members. Applicants need to obtain the approval of relevant Chinese news agencies before submitting visa applications.

R Visa: Chinese talent visa is issued to high-level employees and talents who want to work and stay in China. Generally, they can obtain multiple entry permits valid for 5 or 10 years, and their spouses and children can obtain the same family visa or S2 visa.

Z Visa: all foreigners who intend to work in China need a work visa or visa Z. This visa is a one-time entry visa and its validity is to be determined. Within 90 days after the issuance of the visa, the visa holder must enter China. They must register with the local public security bureau within 30 days after their arrival to obtain a residence permit.

Family Visa

Q Visa:

To relatives of Chinese citizens and foreigners living in China. This paper expounds the requirements and applications of Chinese family visa.

S Visa

There are two types of s visa:

Student 1: holders of this visa can stay in China for a long time. This visa is issued to the family members of the holders of work and student visas. Family members include spouses and children under the age of 18.

Student 2: this visa is for those who want to visit family members studying or working in Japan. The visa holder can stay in China for a short time. This visa is issued several times.

Other China Visas

Visa C: this visa is applicable to foreign crew working on airlines, ships or trains. Their families can also accompany them.

Visa G: this visa is for those who plan to go to the third destination through China. However, citizens of countries such as Singapore, Brunei and Japan do not need transit visas for up to 15 days.

Visa D: this visa is applicable to foreign citizens holding permanent residence permits in China. It is a temporary and transitional visa, such as visa Z. This visa is also called China green card.

Diplomatic and service visas

This license is issued to foreign government officials and diplomats who go to China to perform government duties.
